Did you participate? We turned out the lights and lit up some LED-powered candles.
This week so far: Watched Formosa Betrayed with my sister, upon recommendation from my parents. Sobering experience as it was based on true events. Had a fabulous brunch at Break of Dawn (will share about the experience on the other blog soon!) Helped my mom in the kitchen cook up some Taiwanese comfort food since [...]
We celebrated spring by having a light lunch of shredded chicken/cucumber/soy sauce salad, cold sauteed eggplant with homemade black sesame/miso sauce, daikon in korean honey/grapefruit marmalade with vinegar and sauteed greens. My sister is home for spring break. My family is whole again and I’m happy.
Hearing: This. I play this on a loop for about an hour while I’m trying to sleep. I’ve been having sleeping problems lately, and I find that having some kind of white noise helps. Tasting: Rice Krispies Treats cereal for my late night snack. I wasn’t allowed to have sugary cereals very often as a [...]
Happy Thursday! Some things I am loving this week: (Yarn organizer for my needlepoint project) I’m this close to finishing a needlepoint project that I’ve been working on for at least a year now (it’s been on and off); it’s like coming to the end of a book, I always seem to work faster and [...]
Didn’t make any special plans for today, though I did manage to take pics of my meals today. Breakfast: Overnight Swiss muesli: soaked rolled oats in almond milk, cinnamon, chopped nectarine and papaya, sunflower seeds and dried cranberries. Lunch: Blended “leftovers” soup: I blended some sauteed wakame, gobo, broccoli with stock and some nooch in [...]
One constant at our house on weekends: A long afternoon hike or walk. Since we got an extra hour of light because of the time switch, it was especially nice today. I used to despise losing that one hour of sleep, but I’m really looking forward to longer days, warmer weather and spring. (These were [...]
Some more things that I love: Anything that contains peanut butter. I saw these interesting ginger chews made with peanut butter at Bristol Farms last weekend and I just had to buy them. They’re surprisingly good and I am loving the design of the tin itself. This show. I’ve recently finished season 3 and can’t [...]

Another meme, yes, but one I’ve always wanted to participate in since reading Abby’s Five Senses Friday every week. It’s a great way to slow down and reflect, which I am needing more and more lately it seems . . . Tasting: “DIY” banh mi sandwiches, made with freshly baked baguette from Banh Mi Che [...]
