Panettone. I sit in cars.

By in Breakfast, Daily Life

Here’s some shots of the panettone that I baked yesterday; I tried baking one of the loaves in a coffee can:

Homemade Panettone from Reinhart's Bread Baker's Apprentice.

As you can see, it kind of got mangled when I was trying to extract it after it was done . . . Still damn tasty, though, especially with some blood orange marmalade and a steaming hot cup of tea in the morning. I think the fiori di sicilia made all the difference. I don’t purport to be an expert on panettone or anything, but this was infinitely better than those dried out bricks that appear on store shelves around this time of year. All the more reason to continue baking my own bread!
