341/365: Recent Olympus XA Scans

Just another painful reminder that I need to look into buying a new dedicated film scanner . . . These were scanned using a multi-function fax/scanner/printer machine! Perhaps that’s why I don’t shoot film more often; I’m just not happy with my current options of converting them into a digital format.

Today was the start of the first major storm this season in Southern California; the little kid in me delighted in hearing the wind howl outside. Something about this weather just makes me really enjoy being warm and cozy indoors.

I did end up baking a loaf of bread for the first time in a very long while; made the Panettone from Reinhart’s Bread Baker’s Apprentice. (Nothing like a tall loaf of panettone to kick of holiday baking!) Soaked the dried fruit in a concoction of lemon and fiori di sicilia extracts last night and the reconstituted fruit made the entire house smell lovely while baking the bread today. I’m going to slice into it tonight and maybe post pictures tomorrow!

I love the results even if it’s a wonky scanner! Part of the charm is the surprises we get and the photographs are just lovely.
