Breakfast, lately.

Thanksgiving is next week and we’re invited to a family friend’s house for a dinner party. I’ve volunteered to make a dessert and I’ve chosen (rather ambitiously) to bake some sort of pie (despite never doing it before, due to my fear of all the logistics and planning that go into baking a good pie. I suspect this is due to my pickyness when it comes to pastry.)

Tomorrow I’m hoping to do a trial-run by baking a mini-pie somehow just to make sure I can get the crust just right. So many choices (all butter? all shortening? 50-50? Lard? Olive oil?) and what about the filling? My head is spinning with the possibilities.
