Breakfast: Burnt toast (I made the mistake of running it through the toaster twice because I thought the first time was too light), pastries, hard boiled egg, muesli and yogurt.

Hiking in the cliffs of Delphi. We visited the archeological site, which was amazing and offered beautiful views of the valley below.

Day 4: Delphi and Kalambaka (digital and film)

Filling up bottles of fresh cold spring water in Delphi. Legend has it that if you’re single and you drink this water, you will be engaged/married within one year. For those who are already married, it will only serve to strengthen your love life.

Lunch at the Scala restaurant, situated pier-side. They offered us complimentary retsina and ouzo (resin-flavored and liquorice-like spirits, respectively). Quite a different flavor profile than what I’m used to drinking; if you’re ever in Greece, please try these traditional drinks. However, the alcohol made me very sleepy for the rest of the day (ended up drinking both my sister and mine . . .)

Day 4: Delphi and Kalambaka (digital and film)

We stopped for the night in the small town of Kalambaka, situated at the bottom of the sandstone cliffs at the foothills of Meteora. Apparently one of the old James Bond films was filmed at one of the monasteries there? My dad loves the James Bond movies, so he was uber-excited to visit the monasteries the next day.
